LET’S REEVENT IN MONACO

LET’S REEVENT IN MONACO

  • 13 December 202113 December 2021

#REEVENT is the campaign implemented by Monaco to clearly emphasize its ability to reinvent business tourism and establish its commitment to environmental conservation and ongoing search for sustainable innovation.

The objective of the Principality is to halve its carbon footprint by 2030 and reach carbon neutrality. An ambitious objective, and one that requires everyone to play their part.

The Destination and its partners are adopting solutions to ensure biodiversity, resource management, and greenhouse gas reductionss and offer high quality, varied and sustainable tourism products. More particularly, initiatives cover responsible gastronomy, certified hotels, soft mobility, places of interest and biodiversity itineraries and responsible business tourism.

For example, the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer commits to a Sustainable Development Charter which sets the scene for an environmentally friendly approach. This includes serving organic food at the Elsa in the Hotel Monte-Carlo Beach, the only 100% organic and Ecocert-certified Michelin-starred restaurant in the world. All over the city, sunny spots and rooftops welcome eco-friendly fruit and vegetable patches, like Marcel Ravin’s organic kitchen garden designed by the chef himself. Also, most hotels have opted for environmental certification, while soft mobility is being promoted through the development of a public transport network and efficient intermodal solutions.

The creation of a strategic and operational Sustainable Tourism plan, to be unveiled in 2022, is the next crucial step in this process!
